We only make metal staircases. Every one is fabricated from structural steel, primed and spray finished in our workshop before it leaves. What you choose is the colour and the treads.
Professionally painted
After fabrication the staircase is cleaned, primed and spray painted in a controlled workshop finish, not brushed on site. Black and anthracite are the most popular; greens, greys and off-whites match windows, railings or a designer's scheme. Any RAL colour.
Hot-dip galvanised
For coastal, industrial and commercial sites that specify it, the staircase can be galvanised before painting or left silver-grey.
Powder coating
A baked colour finish for projects that specify it, usually commercial and public-sector work.
Chequer plate or perforated steel
Chequer plate for grip and a solid feel; perforated or open-mesh where you want rain and leaves to fall through. If a landscaper or designer is supplying oak or stone treads, we design the steel structure to carry them.
Balustrades and handrails
Matched to the staircase.
Vertical bar is the classic and the most economical. Horizontal rail gives a more contemporary line. Mesh infill suits fire escapes and commercial access. Glass panels in steel posts are the premium option for terraces and balconies. All are made to the heights the Building Regulations require where there is a drop, with a handrail wherever there are more than a couple of steps.
We fabricate balconies, Juliet balconies, boundary railings and gates in the same steel and the same paint finish, so a staircase never looks like an afterthought against the rest of the metalwork.
